Software Dev Engineer in Test 312-20 month contractRiverton, Utah or RemoteThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for a Software Developer in Test (SDET3) to work in the Church's Membership and Statistical Records (MSR) Portfolio to automate tests for pillar systems of the ChurchThis position is for a mid-level engineer and is eligible for 100% remote work within the MSR teamThis person needs to be able to come in and start contributing immediately.RESPONSIBILITIESHelp create or improve a centralized automated testing harness and testing framework to execute tests and provide automated quality reportsDevelop automated test code for software development projectsDraft, revise and approve test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategyCreate test data with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flowCoordinate with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testingEnsure that tests are successfully completed and documented, and problems are resolved using a Continuous Delivery modelProvide estimates for QA tasksParticipate in code reviewsMentor less senior Developers in Test, if assignedContribute to the development of technical documentationParticipate in our Defect Management process to identify and resolve issuesInfluence the design, testing, and measures required to protect solutions from security compromise or system failureComply with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and help ensure all other are doing the sameAssesses risk and tests for robustness and functionality in a Continuous Delivery modelQUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fieldWork
Experience:
4 years of progressive relevant professional experienceRequired Skills:
Automated TestingJava Coding Experience/ KotlinAPI Testing, Load TestingSmall amount of manual testingVerifiable knowledge of the applicable technical systems and functionsAbility to communicate clearly both orally and writtenModerate ability to solve problems in a timely mannerIntermediate skill in engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodologyBonus Skills:
