SAFETY SPECIALIST (Title 5)

The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, recommendations and assistance to supervisors and employees regarding established safety methods and techniques. MAJOR DUTIES:
This is NOT an all-inclusive list. Implements plans, policies and procedures to comply with DOD, DA, OSHA and NGB safety regulations and directives. Provides technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments and hazards. Plans and conducts periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of all ARNG facilities including ammunition storage, warehouse, and equipment maintenance facilities, to determine compliance with OSHA standards. Evaluates the effectiveness of organizational safety programs through activity visits. Develops countermeasure programs to prevent or reduce accidents and hazardous conditions. Provides technical assistance in accident investigations. Participates in fatality investigations as a team member. Conducts comprehensive investigations in cases of fatal or multiple injury accidents to determine causes and procedures for eliminating a recurrence. Coordinates with and provides assistance in the material and Petroleum Activity and DOD Explosive Safety Board inspections. Presents safety budget requirements with justifications to superiors in support of the statewide ARNG safety program. Your resume must have complete information:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector (3 Years) performing the following duties:
1) Performing periodic onsite surveys, to determine compliance with applicable occupational safety standards; 2) Recommend resolutions and corrective actions related to injuries and safety concerns; 3) Prepare and conduct training programs related to DOD, DA, OSHA AND NGB safety regulations and directives. 4) Develop and implement Safety and Loss Prevention Programs; NOTE:

OR Have you successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines:
safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology. MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS. OR have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines:
safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology. OR have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. NOTE:

Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
