IT Client Support Technician

TEK is looking for a part-time IT Client Support Technician that can troubleshoot IT related issues like they have a sixth sense for it. They need to be able to work independently and be a self starter. Great interpersonal and communication skills are a must as they will be working closely with clients. Our clients love our ability to translate 'Geek' to 'English'. We focus on a positive and productive work environment where we support each other and like to have fun. Responsibilities:
On-site and remote IT systems support focusing mainly on client software, hardware and network installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
Travel to client location(s) within Salt Lake, Tooele and Utah Counties; must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
End user/help desk support; receive, assess, troubleshoot, and resolve help requests insuring timely resolution
Detailed documenting of work, time, travel, and client communications
Maintaining client IT profiles
Monitoring client IT systems
Client relations: Work with end-users, field calls, emails, texts; communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical people
Making recommendations for upgrades, improvements, and solutions for client IT systems and processes
Other responsibilities as required by IT Director; some on-call time may be required
Qualifications:
IT systems experience in a Help Desk, System's Analyst or Junior Network Engineering role
Certifications a plus: A+, Network+, MCP
Experience with IT systems hardware, including: desktops, laptops, servers, storage solutions, networking, printers, peripherals
Experience with Windows XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, networking protocols and architecture
Linux experience a plus
Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Highly self motivated and directed, excellent time management, attention to detail
Technical aptitude
Excellent customer service skills
Ablility to lift 50 lbs
Experience with the dental industry a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
